Hello and Welcome!
February started out calmly enough but today we had a big blast of winter complete with wind and lots of snow. I have no pictures right now because it was there was blowing snow pretty much until all day and into the evening. I grabbed a couple shots with my phone but they're not post-worthy.
I took these photos just yesterday when it was clear and sunny... it was quite cold and windy, but it was clear.
I found these adorable flowered plates at GW, just seven pieces but I knew I had to have them. The pattern is 'Dorchester' by Johnson Brothers. I find it's very similar to a few other patterns by different manufacturers. Like many of my tablescaper peers, I've really started to fall in love with transferware. The more I see, the more I want to have more of it.
Just for fun and because I wanted something else on the table, I made these molded sugar hearts. I was also inspired by the purchase of a silicon mold at GW with which to make them.
I found these Valentine postcards at local antique shop, they're just adorable.
This second one has a small card on the front. Do you think a postcard like this would make it through the mail these days?
I mean no offense to the post office or any postal worker but with some much mechanization, a card like this would get mangled.
While this snowy weather is perfect weather for staying inside to make Valentine's it may delay me from getting them mailed in time. Wishing I could find some as lovely and detailed as these.
Every time I look at this runner I smile, I love the fabric.
Here's the story on the runner, because I know you were wondering. I bought this fabric to use for curtains in my office but when I brought the plates out and the fabric happened to be sitting near by, I realized they were made for each other.
Yes, it will eventually be curtains... in a few weeks.
These gorgeous iced tea glasses are from Southern Living at Home, more than a few years ago.. Wishing I had purchased a few more of them when I had the chance.
I saw mini-birdcages last year in a magazine and when I found these at Michael's (on sale, yay!) I knew I wanted them for my very own.
One last overview of my flowery pre-Valentine table.
I'll be linking up with Between Naps on the Porch for 'Tablescape Thursday' and The Tablescaper for 'Seasonal Sundays'.
